Dj Owlz Biography

Name: Owain pic1
Age: 20 years
Location: Swansea, South Wales
Kitlist: Technics 1210s, Ecler Nuo 2 Mixer & Sennheiser HD25-1 Headphones, Home Studio with Ableton

Owain's first introduction to dance music was at the tender age of 12 years old. His brother was really into raving and use to attend all the big events at the time such as Dreamscape, Slammin Vinyl and Hardcore heaven, collecting the tape packs as he went. Owain would knick them of him and listen to them on his walkman in school, covering a range of diffrent styles, mainly Techno, Hard Trance and Hardcore, from Dj's like Clarkee, M-Zone, Mark Eg, Kevin Energy, Sy, Brisk etc. Though always favouring the uplifting side of things, also enjoying the harder sounds. But what really excited him was the older Hardcore tapes, a combination of Jungle breakbeats, basslines and Hardcore kick drums, accompanied by plenty of uplifting pianos and vocals.

Quote from www.nu-rave.com
“Nu-Rave is a generic term used to describe the latest generation of Rave music being produced today, such as Hardcore Breaks, Rave Breaks, Breakbeat Hardcore and Jungle Techno (J-Tek). The music takes the best from the original Rave scene and brings it up-to-date with an added twist for today's generation!!”

Nu-Rave music takes elements from these styles and fuses it with modern technolegy and sounds, to create something entirely new and intresting. Currently living in Swansea, Owain is a resident Dj for Tick Tock @ Escape, rocking them each and everytime with his unique combination of Breakbeats and Hardcore. He also does promotional work, and is even dabbling with doing his own productions, watch this space!
